Specialty optical fibers for photonics

Specialty optical fibers for photonics

Description

We design and fabricate specialty single and double cladding optical fibers both with standard and more complex geometries. The fibers are made by preform drawing using the rod-in-tube technique. The glass tubes are made by rotational casting and extrusion. The optical fibers are drawn using an in-house developed drawing tower located at the PhotoNext Interdepartmental Center of Politecnico di Torino, in collaboration with Istituto Superiore Mario Boella.
