Joining of monolithic ceramics (SiC, Alumina, Mullite)

A novel pressure-less joining technique Refractory Metal (RM)-wrap technology has been used to join SiC, alumina, and mullite [1, 2] by a metal disilicide reinforced silicon matrix composite joint.
