Brazing of Mo to a CuZr alloy for the production of bimetallic materials for the CLIC accelerating structures (CERN)

Description CuZr alloy (UNS C15000, 80% cold worked) and Mo joining was obtained by brazing process using a Cu-based brazing alloy under appropriate vacuum conditions. The main advantage of this method is that it allowed to perform the solution treatment and precipitation hardening of the Cu-based alloy directly during the brazing process to Mo. This technique has been applied on component for accelerating structures dedicated to CERN experiments.
